Scholarship Opportunities

International Student Scholarship System

A significant number of international students receive 50% and 25% scholarships based on their academic performance and program choice. Full scholarships for undergraduate and PhD students are also available, but are highly competitive. PhD scholarship applications are made during the online graduate application, while undergraduate full scholarship applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee before the semester starts. Admission to the desired program is required for consideration.

All-inclusive Scholarships

This scholarship is for top 1% undergraduate applicants from each country's secondary school graduates. All applications will be evaluated in August based on criteria approved by the EMU Board of Trustees, including educational system and standardized test results.

The scholarship includes tuition for the program duration, free accommodation in a double room, and 3 meals a day.

  1. EMU grants this type of scholarship only for September intakes.
  2. Late %100 scholarship applications cannot be considered.

Tuition Fee Waivers

This scholarship is for high-performing undergraduate applicants from each country's university entrance system. Only 2 students per country per year will receive it. Applications will be evaluated by 14 August 2023. If students with a 100% Tuition Fee Waiver don't register, their applications will be considered for the next semester. Criteria include the educational system and standardized test results. Scholarship covers tuition fees for the regular program duration.

Note: Late %100 scholarship applications cannot be considered.

High Honor Award

Undergraduate and associate degree students who have completed the normal course load and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.50 and a CGPA of 3.00 or higher are eligible for the "High Honor Award". The top ten students in each faculty or school who meet these requirements will receive the award.

The High Honor Award is awarded as follows;

  1. The top student/s receive three times the current gross minimum wage.
  2. The second-ranked student/s receive double the current gross minimum wage.
  3. The third-ranked and subsequent students receive the current gross minimum wage.

The ranking is determined at the end of the second semester by ranking the grade point averages (GPA) of students in the relevant faculty or school from highest to lowest. If students have the same GPA, the one with a higher Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is ranked higher.

Sports Grant

EMU offers sports grants for outstanding performance in individual or team sports. The grant covers education expenses such as tuition and/or dormitory accommodation fees. The specific details, duration, and conditions of the grant are regulated by the principles for "Eastern Mediterranean University Sports Grants Application" approved by the University Executive Board and Board of Trustees.

Student Assistantship

Student assistantship positions are available in different faculties and administrative departments at the university. They are open to all students with a GPA above 2.0. Vacancies for these positions are announced at the start of each semester. The monthly stipend is determined by hourly rates.

Research Assistantship

Each semester, faculties assign research assistant positions to graduate students. Full-time research assistants receive tuition fee exemptions and a salary. Part-time positions are also available. Scholarships for research assistants at EMU are regulated by the "Regulation for Research Assistant Appointment and Postgraduate Scholarship Application.”

Siblings studying at EMU receive a 25% discount for the first two siblings who meet the criteria. Additional siblings receive a 75% discount. Post-graduate students who do not receive any tuition fee discounts or support from the University can get a 10% discount for siblings.
